New chapter, new adventure and back again to Scotland, Glasgow and the Petes. I'm so excited to say I've been accepted as a 2 year ministry intern with 20schemes and am getting ready to join them this September in making Jesus known there. God is so good and this process has already been encouraging and exciting. There is lots to do and things are happening fast!
Here is my support letter and the video my church, City Church Cleveland, made about sending me out. Please contact me with questions and if you'd like to be part of this support! Cheers!
Faith
This September, City Church is sending me to Glasgow, Scotland to work alongside our Global Ministry partners- The Petes- through 20schemes for 2 years. Two summers ago I served as an intern with the Petes and they have been asking me to come serve at Hope Community Church ever since. At that time Hope was a Sunday night Bible Study, not yet an established church. Watching a video from City Church’s February trip, I saw a full service, triple the people, faces familiar & new, and it had me tearing up. Texting the crew that I missed them, Pete Stewart responded with typical to the point snark,
“Tears are cheap. Moving is where it’s at.”
Scotland’s housing schemes are full of working class, tight knit communities with plenty of life and banter. The schemes are also full of joblessness, addiction, broken homes and neglect. What they are not full of are local churches holding out the hope of the gospel. Believing that the gospel alone truly changes lives, 20schemes seeks to hold out hope “moving the church into the schemes to see new, healthy, vibrant, gospel preaching churches established inthe schemes and forthe schemes.”

It is because I love Jesus that I love his church and desire to see healthy churches in Barlanark, Cleveland and all places. As I approached graduation, my reasons to not go slowly peeled away. Sermons took me back to Scotland and the work there. I was uniquely positioned to go. While God doesn’t need me in accomplishing his work, he has placed me to be available, willing, known, able, and in love with the place and people of Glasgow. Saying out loud that I’d apply the ball started rolling and hasn’t stopped, complete with a September start date.
Partaking in City Church’s mission has prepared me for 20schemes. I will work in children’s ministry as well as build relationships with women in the scheme, seeking to show and share the hope of Jesus. I may even serve coffee at Hope’s community cafe, enhancing Cleveland life similarities. ;) Weekly sessions at the Ragged School of Theology in Niddrie will help me develop ministry skills for Scotland and life.
Serving in Glasgow full time for 2 years with 20schemes requires that I meet a fundraising goal and secure partnership of $3,000 monthly for 2 years. This allows 20schemes to cover my rent, salary, health, administration and training fees & other ministry fees. Leaving in September requires a dedicated team of monthly supporters for 2 years. I need to be at 80% monthly pledges by August 1.
Will you pray about joining my team at $50 - $150 per month?

I would love to answer any questions or schedule a time to discuss more about the ministry and joining in. In the coming weeks I’ll follow this letter with a phone call to check in on any questions and to see if you’d like to help in any way. Thank you for for reading and considering being part of this work!
