Hullo and happy Tuesday!
Support is at $3,290 which means I only need $710 to have fully raised support for 20schemes and then airfare. So good! This is very encouraging, particularly as there was just an unexpected visa issue this week.
On Sunday I received an email that out of the 9 visas requested, the UK only granted 3 to 20schemes for the interns to come. The Stateside office in Kentucky was to give these three to whoever was closest to their funding and because I've had sponsors give through Heights, they did not know I was at their required mark.
Several emails later and with the quick & heartening work of Marci at 20schemes and Heather at Heights, the documentation of my funding at Heights was given and they granted me the third visa slot. Also remarkable is that interns who were not at the mark on Sunday when the email came out, are at the mark as of yesterday and the Stateside office is looking again at visa potentials for them as well. The 3 slots we do have we still have to personally apply for, and while that isn't expected to be problematic it was also not expected to have only been granted 3 visas so continued prayer on that front.
As I'm reminded by people around me, God is bigger than visas.
Please pray for the interns trying to go, pray that the doors would be open for the gospel in Scotland's schemes, and pray for the group from Heights going to visit the Pete's from 20schemes this week. Continued prayer for support is also appreciated, and praise for what has been given and for being granted this visa slot.
More personally, I would really appreciate prayer for my heart in mind in preparing for this time. I'm rather busy with other life stuff between school and jobs and it is really easy to lose sight both of what's important here and now in Cleveland, and looking ahead & preparing for this work in Scotland. It's easy to get caught up in lesser things and forget to rest in what God has done and is doing in and through Jesus.
Thank you for reading~
